Aleksandra Krasnopolska is a contemporary artist from Odessa, Ukraine.

Aleksandra worked as an architect and interior designer before turning to sculpture. When she picked up clay for the first time, she fell in love with the material. "The most amazing thing is how easy and beautiful I did it the first time, how pleasant and facile the clay was," she says. "It was love at first touch!"

Krasnopolska's sculptures are biomorphic, seeming to slide and shift as you walk around them. Krasnopolska's work evokes the beautiful female form, as well as the waves of the Black Seas, where Aleksandra draws so much of her inspiration. The sculptures are made using a process that the artist refers to as "flow art." Every piece is a form of meditation.

"What is put into the work, that is what radiates from it.

Any objects have the energy of the one who created them, so I sincerely believe that it is not the action itself that is important, but the state of being during the action. I never sketch my sculptures because that limits the flow.

When creating my sculptures, I just let go of control and completely trust the flow, enjoying the process. I put in the work my internal state, without any expectations and attachments to the result. There is a lot of pleasure and freedom in this.

This is how my sculptures are born."
